Thankful Day 3

Today was a long tiring day. It's days like these that I really need to remember to write my list! Here are some things that I am thankful for today:

~Despite having a bout of insomnia last night, that I was able to make it through my busy day.

~Well almost make it through. I am so grateful to my mom for picking my girls up from school for me, so I could rest =)

~Five dollar pizzas from Little Caesars

~Being able to watch my friends kids one day a week and make some extra money.

~Texting. It makes the long distance between me and most of my siblings seem not so far.

~That I can still fit into my favorite Buckle jeans.

~That after 3 months of our kids being at their new school, the secretary knows my name, which is so different then at their old school, where after 3 years the secretary asked my if we were new to the school.

~That my kids are off from school for the rest of the week, meaning we can sleep in!

Thankful Day 2

I love doing this! I found myself thinking throughout the day of things that I wanted to add to my list. Here are some things that I am thankful for today :

~That Levi is home with me for half of the day. He is so much fun to be around and always makes me laugh! =)

~For my giant bag of chocolate chips that my mom gave me. It is great for baking and snacking! =)

~My new laundry system. I'll blog about it another time =) I love it!

~Health Insurance

~The wonderful company that Brandon works for and that he loves his job. It came at just the right time and has been such a blessing.

~I mom willing to help me whenever I need her!

~Brandon spending hours and hours in the backyard on Saturday gathering up the thousands of leaves that fell from our 5 huge trees. I was thankful to get them cleared away. The kids were thankful for other reasons......

Thankful

I have always loved reading people's thankful posts all through the month of November. I have always wanted to do some of my own, but never have. I saw on my sister in laws blog that she is doing thankful posts the whole week before Thanksgiving, and that seemed doable, so here I go. I am not promising to do it every day, but I am going to try. Today here are a few things that I am thankful for:

~Lots and lots of little kicks from our sweet baby. Very reassuring!

~My wonderful mother in law who has spent the past two weeks helping me clean and organize every room of my house. I seriously feel like a new person!

~My brother, offering to babysit for free so Brandon and I could go out on a date for our anniversary on Friday night.

~My friend's sweet doctor offering to do a gender ultrasound for a small fee so that we an finally find out what we are having for sure!

~A wonderful husband who more often then not, tells me to go to bed early and offers to put the kids to bed, allowing for me to walk in on sweet tender moments like this:

Flashback to....Saint Patrick's Day

When I was looking through all of our pictures I came across some cute pictures from Saint Patrick's day that I had to post. Alexis set up a trap to try and catch some leprechauns. I thought it was really quite clever! She made some fake gold, tied it to the end of a ruler, and positioned it underneath a basket, so that if the leprechaun tried to grab the "gold" it would knock the ruler down causing the basket to trap it.

When the kids woke up the next morning they found the front room in complete disarray. The leprechaun managed to get away but left behind some "gold" and a big mess to clean up! =)

This year I decided to make some green eggs, and see if the kids would brave eating them.

This was Levi's reaction:

Alexis was happy to try them! I think I got Tori to try one bite =)

They all loved the green punch though!

I can't remember why, but for some reason we weren't able to have our "green dinner" on the actual night of Saint Patrick's day, so we had it the next night instead. We had Pizza (with the crust dyed green) broccoli, Caesar salad, and sprite.

Saint Patrick's day is a fun simple holiday. The kids get so excited about it, and look forward to it every year! =)

Our Snow Angels

It was so nice to wake up today to news that school was cancelled! The new charter school that we started at is in Douglas County, and that county is know for having a lot of snow days. The kids were thrilled for a day off , and I was thrilled to sleep in! Later in the afternoon after the snow stopped, the kids bundled up and headed outside to play. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures. They played out there for well over an hour and had a blast.

My favorite =)

I was in the kitchen and I heard a knock at the back door. I looked over to see Levi proudly holding is "pointy headed" snow ball as he called it. =)

A few minutes later I looked out to see Alexis building a little snowman on the picnic table. I think she did a pretty good job! Now every time I sit at the kitchen table it is sitting there staring right at me through the patio door! haha

I am trying to be better about capturing the fun moments of them having fun just being kids =) They are counting on a snow day tomorrow, but I told them they were probably out of luck on that one! Levi has a field trip to the Littleton Historical Museum tomorow which is outdoors, and they are still planning on going. That's Colorado for ya!

Halloween!

Yesterday was Halloween and it was perfect! With a huge cold front coming in today, I am so grateful that it was so nice outside yesterday. Here are our kiddos dressed up in their costumes. Tori was a fairy, Levi a ninja, and Alexis a pirate. This picture is actually one that I took on Friday before we left for their school's harvest festival, but it is my favorite =)

Here they are yesterday on our way over to the church for trunk or treat.

When we got there Alexis quickly found some friends and ran off with them. We ran into Harmony. It was so fun to see her in her cute simba costume. Tori went around to the cars with her and loved it. Levi stuck with daddy, and who knows where Alexis was! lol

Trunk or treat only lasted around a half an hour and they we headed over to see grandma, grandpa and Michael. I love this picture of them running to the door. They were so excited. This excitement continued all throughout the night.

I don't know if my mom will like this picture, but I just love it! =)

After leaving grandma and grandpa's house we headed over to see nana and papa.

After visiting with them we decided to stick in their neighborhood to do some more trick or treating. It turned out to be a good choice because their neighbors all gave out huge handfuls and even a giant candy bar at one house. Our kids were in candy heaven! It was so much fun to watch them trick or treat. They were all so sweet and polite at each house, and they always took turns ringing the doorbell (their favorite part)

We told the kids that if a house didn't have their porch light on then they couldn't go up to it, because those people probably didn't want trick or treaters coming. Well they didn't see a light on at one house and started to pass by it. When Brandon and I caught up with them and saw this set-up outside we told them it was probably OK to go there =)

Brandon and I were excited to see this stone wall in between two houses so we could sit for a second.

After going out for about an hour, the kids were practically dragging their bags behind them, so we decided to call it a night.

We got home around 8, which is usually when they are in bed. But counting and sorting the candy is always the best part so we had to let them do that real quick. I can not believe how much candy they got! They picked out the kinds they didn't like and put them in a bowl for Brandon and I, and then hid their candy bags from us! haha Luckily Levi isn't a very good hider. This morning I was really wanting a reese's peanut butter cup, and quickly found his bag to satisfy my craving. I am sure he won't mind =)

Another Halloween has come and gone. Brandon and I were talking about how we probably only have a few more years where Alexis wants to go with us and not her friends so we treasure these memories!
