Pinkalicious

Tori's favorite book is called "Pinkalicious" She checked it out from the library a few years ago, and absolutely loved it. There are actually three books in the series. Pinkalicious, Purpleicious and Goldilicious. For Christmas she got the hardback copies of all of them. She also has a fun little set that came with small paperback copies of the books, a diary, some stickers, and some recipes. She has been wanting to make the Pinkalicious cupcakes for a while, so yesterday we decided to make them. Here are Alexis and Tori ready o begin.

This is right after we dyed the dough pink. Tori is holding up the recipe.

Here are the finished cupcakes, complete with pink frosting and pink sprinkles.

As we were making the cupcakes the girls decided that we should have a pinkalicious tea party. They came up with the menu of mini peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, strawberries, strawberry Koolaid, and of course the cupcakes!

Alexis and Tori were so cute as they set the table for our tea party. They made sure everything was perfect, right down to the pink table cloth and each of the books being propped up for decorations. As we had our little party, we read each of the stories.

"Pinkalicious" is about a little girl that makes pink cupcakes with her mom. She loves them so much that she can't stop eating them and when she wakes up the next morning she has turned pink! The only cure is for her to eat only green vegetables. As we were having our tea party, Tori made sure that we all didn't eat too many cupcakes. She was very concerned that since we used the same recipe that they used, we might turn pink too!

While we were having our tea party, daddy was taking a nap, and Levi was playing at a friends house. It's a good thing, I don't know if they could have handled all of that pink!! During the tea party Tori declared, "This is the perfect thing to write in my diary!"

Shrine Circus

Last Friday my friend Catherine called me and told me that she had some free tickets to the shrine circus, and asked if we wanted some. We couldn't pass that up, so of course we said yes! Our kids have never been to a circus, so they were all so excited. When we first walked in the door there were several clowns, and other blown up animal people. Alexis was the only one we could get to pose with one of the clowns. We got there about a half hour before the circus was supposed to start. They had some fun things set up for the kids to do, so Brandon took them down. The kids all got their faces painted. They did a great job! Too bad they could only wear it for a few hours until we came home and had to wash it off before bed, lol. Oh well, they loved it anyways.

This pictures totally cracks me up, so I had to post it. This is during the intermission, and our girls were not very happy because we wouldn't let them ride the elephants. We felt really bad, because that would have been so much fun, but we found out it was 10.00 a person, so we opted out. Needless to say, the kiddos were a little upset. The last thing they wanted to do was take a family picture! We insisted though, and right before the picture was taken Brandon said, you guys better be smiling in this picture! This is what we got.....
Here we are sitting on our row enjoying the show
The girls were eating some kind of candy in this picture, lol.

We were already planning on going out to dinner with Brandon's mom that night, so we invited her to come along with us to the circus after dinner. She was a little hesitant at first, but it didn't take too long to talk her into it! She was so sweet and bought the kids each some light up toys.
We found out that our good friends, the Beyerleins had also gotten free tickets! We moved to sit by them because their seats had a much better view of the show.I know that this picture is blurry but I had to include it. Before the show started a worker walked around and told us that at the end of the show a man would be shot out of a cannon. He said that it would make a very loud boom, and that we would probably want our kids to cover their ears. Levi wanted to be prepared, and so he had his ears covered for most of the show, haha.

It was such a fun last minute family outing, and we are so glad that we were able to go! It was a much smaller circus then Barnum and Baily Circus, but it was still so much fun!!

Columbine

Today is the 11th anniversary of the shootings at Columbine. I almost was able to send my kids to school today. Almost. It was going to be such a big step for me. I have never been able to send them on April 20th, and I thought for sure I would be able to this year. Hair was done, breakfast was fed... As I started to put Alexis's homework in her backpack, my heart started to pound. It felt like someone was standing on my chest, making it hard to get a full breath in. I couldn't do it. This year wasn't going to be the year. Maybe next year....

Photo Shoot

A few weeks ago I had a houseful of kids. My mom and brother were also over at the time so my mom and I could work on my brother's announcements for his reception. At one point the girls came in and asked if I could come and take some pictures of them. I sent Michael out instead, lol. I didn't think much of it until I was looking through the pictures on my camera and came across a ton of cute pictures! I know there are a lot, but they are all too hilarious not too post. Oh, and I'm not quite sure what's up with Alexis and that hammer!

Thanks Michael for taking these way cute pictures!!

Soccer Boy

We signed Levi up for soccer, and he had his first practice and game a few weeks ago. He is in the beginning level, so each practice consists of a 30 minute practice and a 30 minute game. It has been a great way to introduce Levi to soccer, and he has loved it so far. Here he is on his first day in all his gear, ready to go. Brandon took several pictures, and it was so hard to decide which pictures to post. It was so much fun to watch him.

Time for a drink. That's what mom's are for!

Do I look like a proud mommy or what! LOL

Levi did so good, and I know that I am a little biased, but he is the best on his team! He is a little natural. Hopefully this is something he will really enjoy for years to come.

Meet Spike

I don't know how he did it, but Brandon talked me into adding another pet to our house. AaaaAaaa!! Meet Levi's new bearded dragon, Spike.

He has actually been not too bad so far. Bearded dragons don't ever bite, so the kids have been able to hold him a lot. I told Brandon that we can keep him for a 6 month trial period, and as long as I don't have to ever hold him, clean his cage or feed him, then we can keep him =) So far so good, but we will see what happens when the excitement wears off!
This is the only time when Levi looks semi uncomfortable holding Spike. That's because Spike's feet were tickling his neck, lol.

I was so surprised at how much Alexis and Tori like to hold him as well! As for me, I have poked his back with my finger, but that is it!

I am so at my limit with pets right now! Alexis has been begging for a bunny, but I am SO out on that! haha. We of course have our dog, Misty which we love, we are taking care of a friend of my mom's dog, and now a lizard! My goodness what have I gotten myself into =)
