Family Fun

Today we spent the day at my parent's house baking Christmas cookies! I forgot how much fun it is to bake around the holidays. Baking with family makes it all the more fun. We did take a break to go to Target, one of our favorite things to do and to hold Lyla, another favorite =). The reason we were baking so many different things was because my mom thought it would be fun for us all to go caroling tonight. So after everything was baked and packaged up, we ate a yummy dinner and headed out to go caroling to a few family friends in my parents neighborhood. I have to add a funny story from the night. The first house that we went to was my parent's next door neighbors. Alexis was holding a tin of cookies and as we were singing it slipped out of her hands and burst open onto the ground. She was trying to quickly pick it up, and Brandon jumped in to help. As he picked up the tin, it slipped out of his hands too! The cookies spilled out all over the ground. We tried to hold back our giggles as we were singing carols and hoped they didn't notice all the commotion. Good thing we were right next door so we could run home to refill the tin. We went to 7 different houses. It was such a great night to go, because it wasn't too cold out. We had a lot of fun. AJ made sure to keep the tempo up on the songs so we didn't sing too slow! Here are a few pictures Brandon took throughout the night.

Poor Lyla wasn't a happy camper at first, but she soon fell asleep and slept through the whole thing!

After caroling we headed back to mom and dad's to hang out, and play the Wii.

We couldn't resist taking some pictures of Lyla. She's such a cutie!

Today was a great start to what I am sure will be a fun filled week spent with family. Yay! This is my favorite time of the year =)

What a fun family activity! Glad you didn't give the cookies to the neighbors after they'd fallen to the ground. =)
