Meet Misty

Meet the newest addition to our family, Misty. Misty is a 2 month old Yorkie-Poo (Yorkie/poodle mix). She is two and a half pounds right now and will probably only grow to be twice that size. Coincidentally we got her the day before Ash died. She has really helped the kids to cope. Her name started out as Thumbelina, then changed to Tinkerbell, then Lady, and we finally settled on Misty. We have been having a lot of fun with her. She is fitting in nicely around here =)

Spa Day

Today Alexis's Brownie troop had a spa day. It was the girls reward for doing such a great job selling girl scout cookies this year. The girls had so much fun getting pampered. Here is Alexis getting her hand scrub. After the hand scrub the girls headed to the front room to soak their feet. While they were waiting for their turn they read magazines.

This is a terrible picture because the flash didn't go off, but here is Alexis soaking her feet. There were marbles and salts in the water. She loved it.

After soaking their feet and getting a foot massage, they headed downstairs to get facials. Here is Alexis relaxing with a warm washcloth on her face. The lady who put this all on had soothing music on, the fireplace going, and candles burning everywhere.

Alexis's favorite part was getting to put cucumbers on her eyes

Afterwards they had a yummy little brunch

What a fun day Alexis had. I thought it was such a great idea that her leader came up with. Alexis loves being in Brownies.

A Tribute to Ash

Two nights ago, our sweet cat, Ash, was hit by a car and killed. We miss him so much. To say that the kids are heartbroken, is an understatement. There have been many tears at our house the past few days. In the short year and a half that we had him he became a part of our family. He was not your typical cat. He let the kids carry him around, push him in the baby stroller, read him books, and was constantly snuggling up to them. Every night he would sleep on Alexis's bed, and had pretty much claimed it as his own. Alexis woke up very early yesterday, and told me that she couldn't sleep because Ash usually snuggles up to her and she couldn't sleep unless he snuggled with her. Ash, had Tori wrapped around his little paw. She probably played with him more then anyone else. Yesterday she told me, "Ash used to play with me in the basement all the time...he made it so I wasn't scared down there" Here are a few pictures of sweet Ash with our kiddos. You tell by the pictures how well loved he was.

Levi is holding our cat Sarah in this picture. Ash is the one walking behind him. Yesterday Levi and I, took our new puppy, who we had gotten the day before Ash was killed (more on that later), to the vet. As they were checking her out, Levi said to the veterinarian, "Ash died" I then explained what had happened. Then in the cutest little voice Levi said, "He an angel now" My heart melted. We told the kids that Ash was an angel now watching over them.

Ash loved to play outside and would always go exploring. At the end of the day, Brandon would always call him inside, and he would always come straight home. The night that this happened, he didn't come home. Brandon called and called, and kept checking the door expecting him to be there. Around midnight he got in the car to look for him. As soon as he pulled out of the driveway he saw him. He must have been on his way home when he was hit =( I never fully understood the impact that an animal could have until we lost our sweet Ash. We will miss him a lot.

It's been a while!

I can't believe how long it's been since my last post! In my defense, I have been a little busy....

My days have consisted of sitting on the couch holding and feeding bottles to these two babies at the same time..... ( I don't know how moms with twins do it)

Or breaking up constant fights and mischief between these two partners in crime
(I know they look like the best of friends in this picture, but don't be fooled...)

I finally decided that I have reached my limit and need to cut back. I am happy to announce that as of yesterday my daycare is short two little guys. It has been bittersweet to me. I have grown to love Weston over this past year, and although I have only watched little Michael since December, I have definitely developed a bond with him. I will miss the extra income. It has been such a blessing and got us through some financially hard months. This is where faith is going to have to kick in. I know we can make it work though. I will not miss the extra stress, and loss of time for my family and my house. (you should see my upstairs... it is scary) I am still watching Harmony, and will probably eventually add one more child (over three years old, and a girl), but for now I am taking a much needed break. Hopefully I will be able to keep this blog better updated now as well =)
